Welcome back to the 4th day of the Blessings For Your Family Series.
I'm so excited about today's Blessing For Your Husband post.
Praying and blessing your husband is very important.
First, it's important for you. Yes, you! Sometimes as wives, we can forget that we are Wives first before being Mommy. We get too busy with this every day life and forget the very one who God blessed us with for life! We are to be a help-mate to our husband. When you bless your husband, you let him know how important he really is to you. Okay, wives now that we remember who we are, let's go on.
In today's world, our husbands face so much pressure. Wouldn't you agree? Some of them are supporting the entire family, self-employed, traveling or in ministry. Some maybe going through times of being jobless, transition or not on the right road. Wives, they need our love and support, today. Now. Second, as we take time to bless our husband it teaches our children how to honor their father. Our husband realizes how much we honor them when we all bless him together. It's a beautiful picture for the children to see their Mom honor their Dad. As a family, I like to take time to bless my husband once a week during shabbat (the sabbath) and at times as I feel led. I'm not going to say that it happens every week, but I'm still working on that too.
We can pray for our husbands and most of all, the Bible says to honor and submit to our husbands. Well, maybe you say, "You don't know my husband!". I'm here to tell you that no matter where your husband falls short, if you bless them and surrender them to the Lord, God can intervene.
That is why I felt so encouraged to share this Blessings for the Family series. It can encourage us in our daily lives to take time and realize how important it is to bless each other. Take time as you feel led to use this blessing and to pray over your husband. Speak the words from your heart and the Lord will do the rest! Here is an excerpt taken from Psalm 122:1-10 and also from John D Garrr's book entitled, The Book of Blessings, Ancient Biblical Blessings for Every Occasion. You can also find these and many other blessings in this book entitled, Bless You by John D. Garr.
Praise the Lord! Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who delights greatly in his commandments. His descendants will be mighty on earth; the generation of the upright will be blessed.
Wealth and riches will be in his house, and his righteousness endures forever. Unto the upright there arises light in the darkness; he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.
A good man graciously and lends; he will guide his affairs with discretion.
Surely he will never be shaken; the righteousness will be in everlasting remembrance.
He will not be afraid of evil tidings; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord.
His heart is established; he will not be afraid, until he sees his desire upon his enemies.
He has dispersed abroad, he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever; his horn will be exalted with honor. Subscribe below to download your FREE Blessing For Your Husband Prayer:
